What is a Corneal Edema?

The cornea is the clear front-most part of the eye.  Swelling of the cornea, also known as corneal edema, can cause mild to severe vision problems and sometimes pain as well.  There are many causes of corneal edema.  Treatment for this condition depends on the cause and severity but is determined on an individual basis.
